Star Wars - Action-IV Transport

Description

This is a SketchUp model of a Corellian Engineering Corporation (CEC) Action-IV Bulk Transport from the Expanded Star Wars Universe.

CEC's Action-class transports were considered the workhorses of the galaxy, and the enormous Action-IV was among the most popular in the series known for their reliability, adaptability, and long-lasting service career. Although CEC ceased production of the IV decades before the fall of the Old Republic in favor of newer designs, the IV remained in production by various licensed and knock-off shipyards throughout the galaxy. The ship is designed to transport various types of cargoes in multiple configurations and can accommodate dozens of passengers as well. It can even land planetside; a major feat not shared with many other bulk freighters its size. It also has a hangar bay allowing it to carry a small shuttle or a few starfighters. The ships were used by both the Imperial Navy and Rebel Alliance during the Empire to carry munitions, troops and vital supplies.

The Action-IV was designed by Rob Caswell rob-caswell.deviantart.com/ for West End Games back in 1990. Since then it has appeared in various SW tech manuals, role-playing sourcebooks and video games over the years.  I based the design on the scratch-built model here: www.modelermagic.com/?p=52421

I didn't make the background image, just the ship.

I really miss these older EU ships. They fit in so nicely with the aesthetic of the film series.
